Here is an extra set of levers for tt that I will not be using. They are Syntace brand. I might be using this stem faceplate but not for sure.

Cannondale TT is now complete!

Here is the finished bike. I will take her on a ride shortly & will post more later.

That's right! Those are custom anodized brake levers. Got my new socks too.

Built up with a mix of LX and XT shimano stuff it weighed in on G-Ted's scale at 23 lbs with pedals and 2.3 in tires. Cleaning house though so this is my last mountain bike to get rid of before the new one arrives. This frame will fit someone really well if you are between 5'7" and 5'11".

Getting closer......

Tires finally arrived today. I have been waiting a long time for these. Thanks Dirty. I love them. Still waiting on a few things to complete this project. Should be done next week somtime if all things fall in place.

This is Mr. Congdon one nice summer evening. He looks lost. No! Wait! He actually looks like he is looking for someone. Could it be my long lost cuz? Sure was. Bidwell took off like a
dirty shirt and missed a crucial left turn. He was found almost an hour later.

Weekend make-over.....

Well. I see that my Cuz has been busy with the new $5 bike that will soon be a sweet vintage fixie. I have my own project and it's almost complete. I bought this little ugly thing for $5 also. She has horizontal dropouts and fit cyclocross tires that are 38mm. 700cc wheel. She has a minor identity crisis though. I call it a single speed cross/touring rig. Cross bike with road bike calipers? Sure. It is too small for me though so I will be selling her soon. She also dropped about 10 pounds with this make-over.

As you can see the bottom pic is the near completed make-over. I will have more pics in a week or so.

Bull riding didn't hurt this bad......

Well. Let me start by saying I am glad the snow is finally here. I get to use these little snowboard scooter tyle machines. WRONG! I hate these stupid machines. I must be too heavy or something. I was off Fletcher Ave near University the other day & thought, "That's a nice hill for sled down." It was indeed. The bad thing is I fell off towards the bottom and now I can't breathe.

That started healing up but then Sunday I decided to get up on the roof and get rid of some of that snow. Too bad the ladder went down out from under me when I sepped onto the stinking roof. That's right! I fell down. Landed 9 or 10 feet below on our deck. Didn't hurt at all, at first. I thought, "I'm okay or dead." Turns out I was okay. The same sore spot from sledding is what broke my fall from the roof. Went to the Chiropractor today and x-rays show everything is fine. Nothing broke, so he adjusted me, ALOT! Go back again Thurs.

I am down to only have two complete bikes. A TT bike (97% complete) and a fixie. The mtb is just about down to the bare frame. Selling most of it all to buy a 29er. Darn G-Ted put this 29er crap in my veins. Also, the fixie is still for sale. Price reduced: $192.57

trail grooming....

Those darn trails can't wait until spring for grooming so the girls helped me out a couple of weeks ago. I guess I helped them more than they helped me.

The clip-on aero bars came today. They sure do look pretty. Oh yeah, the shifters are on now too.

Three more "super" surprises for Blue Colnago coming in the next few weeks. Stay tuned.

I am the stair master

Maybe not the master but this is what I doing during my lunch hours. Not as much fun as riding but, it's easier since I do not have to leave my office building. Lately I have been running up ever step from the 1st floor to the top of the 8th floor. That's 24 steps per floor. I do ever step the 1st time. I ride the elevator down to catch my breath and so I don't fall. There have been three people fall down the stairs since I started working in this building. The last gal completely shattered her elbow and will have perminant loss. I don't need that. The 2nd time up I take two steps at a time. 3rd time up, every step and the 4th time up I take two steps at a time. That averages around 504 steps per lunch hour.

It also doesn't bother my severe shin splits that I have been having. Doc tells me to not run at all for two weeks but I convinced him that running up the stairs doesn't hurt so he said to continue with it.

Been doing a little roller riding but not enough to start mentioning the miles involved.

Fayse Six is underway

Fayse six is not complete but, I am getting a good start. This little sweetie came today. I am already in love with her. She is so soft and smooth. The matching aero bar should come on Saturday or Monday. The shifters should srrive any day too. Still have to get brake levers and maybe a new stem. This one is 110mm which might be too long.

Faze Five.......Check!

Put on the Reynolds fork yesterday. There was a headset issue but that has been resolved. Added a few parts to her last night. The bar & stem is not staying on, just for the pics.

I still need an aero bar combo, brake levers and 9 speed bar-end shifters.

Project Caonnondale TT.....Phase three complete!

Had a nice ride at camp with G-Ted that started around 8:00am today. Nice pace. Just quick enough to keep warm but not too fast that we couldn't breathe enough to talk. Took a few pics. G-Ted is such a 29er nut. Also, I was granted a chance to ride the Salsa Dos Niner. Wow, is all I can say. The bike is extremly light feeling on the trail. Very snappy. It's offers an unusual feeling. Unusual at first anyways. Once you start riding through the singletrack, and settle into a groove, I started to notice that the frame feels (and starts to even look) as though it is threading you around the twists & turns. Steering was effortless. The one inch of rear travel feels like two or three inches but without the wasted effort. The word "flow" comes to mind. I was impressed. Thanks G-Ted & Salsa for the test ride. Then, I had to get back on my Fort but the fun was not over. Gotta love the camp.

After the ride I headed to the spray booth to complete phase three of the tt project. Laid on the candy smoke, decals and clear coat. All went very well. I did run out of clear coat which left the seat tube (facing the tire) a little dull but the base coat is there to protect the metal. You will notice in one of the pics that the decals appear to silver. They are actually reflecting the light from my camera flash. They are reflective decals. Overall I think it is my best attempt at painting a frame all myself. Getting better everytime. I am starting to run out of quality frames to paint though.....

The girls helped me out a little the other day. We started some a few weeks ago. This weekend was phase two. I should be able to get close to 3/4 mi when we are done. Single track & double track. Here are a few pics. Obviously the need a good raking & lots of riding.

Project Cannondale TT update

Finished the brushing of the bare metal this weekend. Next step is finishing up one custom decal. Saturday I may get to lay on the paint.

Light weight wheels....

Anyone thinking about dropping the cash for some lightweight wheels? You may need to rethink the subject before dropping the cash. G-Ted has a post on his blog that may change your mind. My take on it is unless you are only going uphill or racing crits the lightest wheels may limit your momentum.

Also, I have a rediculously heavy pair of road wheels for sale and the asking price just doubled.

Losing weight has just gotten a little bit easier. I wish. Pizza & no exercise tonight.

Treadmillin.....

Been treadmillin the last few days. About 2-3 miles. Mostly working on getting limber again. Been years since I ran. I am mostly walking really fast and then jogging for a bit. Then, I sprint for as long as I can. Did 10 mph for 45 seconds two nights ago. Last night I ran at 8mph for one minute. Felt pretty good too. I have been focusing on taking in really deep breaths which I think will help me with cycling. Taking a break tonight. Will ride rollers tommorrow night in the garage. Most likely be riding the fixie (which is still for sale).
