Macro Mondays

Ok. Since Photoshop Friday was so much fun I have decided to not wait any longer before rolling out Macro Mondays. This day will feature a close up photo of something. You can even try to guess what you are seeing if it's not obvious.

So today is the begining. You may have to guess at this one or you may not. You decide.

It's that new kind of natural fibre-optics, with lots of fiber found exclusively in and around the Tripoli area! Kind of feels like your eating one of those fibre optic lamps. Think I saw that episode on "No Reservations"

It's wheat spaghetti pasta. Pretty east I guess. Next weeks will be a bit more challenging.

Thanks for playing.

Kristopher, I used an old Nikon D50 with a 50mm prime lens. I have some thread on "close-up" filters from ProMaster. They work ok but by no means perfect. I would suggest checking out the ultra affordable Fuji S5100 (or maybe the S5700 or S1000) bit sure which one is still available. All of them have Macro and SuperMacro. You can get the focus range down to 1-2cm. That's pretty darn close. They are a little bulky and do not have the widest of lenses but for macro you will be hard pressed to find a better camera. I bought my father one for Christmas at Walmart for $125. I took a pic of the head of a screw and on the computer it fills the entire screen. I was impressed.

Good luck.
